The edible park at Krönikegatan in the Vivalla district is gilded by two works of art created by the artists Signe Johannessen and Erik Rören in collaboration with the associations Starka broar and Gemensamhetsföreningen in Vivalla. "Garden State", a fountain in the heart of the park and the "Knytkalaset", a colorful long table next to a generously sized barbecue area. The artworks are framed by a swagger, edible landscape with play equipment interspersed. The landscape is made up of hills that are shaped from excavated masses and topped with planting soil specially prepared for this project. In parts of the park, coal macadam has been used. About 500 trees and shrubs and hundreds of perennials (many edible ones) was planted in the spring 2024. For the project, we developed our own seed mixtures for different sub-areas that were sown after planting the trees, the shrubs and perennials. A supplementary tree planting was carried out in the autumn 2025 to provide more shade to the gathering areas. Proven stalwarts like cherries (Prunus avium), havtorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) and various currants (Ribes spp.) are interspersed with heat-demanding crops that can take advantage of the favorable microclimate on the sheltered farm. Walnut (Juglans regia), mullbär (Morus spp.) and quince (Cydonia oblonga) flourish and even peach (Prunus persica) and sweet almonds (Prunus) has developed far beyond expectations. About 20 named varieties of mint have been planted in the ground layer, a must for many living labs. The plant wall in the park is designed by Peter Korn.
